How many times do you have to cook it?

So tonight I was making Porter an elaborate dinner of frozen chicken strips with a brownie and I learned just how good of a cook I am.
I followed the instructions on the package and put the meal in the microwave, Porter asked if his dinner was ready yet and I said not quite. He asked if I had to put it in and cook it again. I said yes I had to turn over the nuggets and put it back in. Porter then informed me that daddy only has to cook it once because he is a good cook, but I am not a very good cook. I told him if he thought I wasn't a good enough cook maybe he better figure out how to cook it himself and he said no you are a good cook, just not a very good cook.
Out of the mouths of babes!! They only speak the truth I guess. But I do make a MEAN piece of toast. wait until he tastes that!! :)

Female Drivers

Today in Sacrament meeting Porter was drawing some pictures and telling me what they were. He drew two pictures and then said "this is daddy driving, and this you driving, you can tell because there's your boobs" I choked back my laughter and told him not to talk about that. So a little louder than his first comment he says to his dad "daddy why cant we talk about girls boobs?"
Innocent and embarrassing!
Not a story I will soon forget I am sure. We may need a little lesson in modesty or at least modest speech at our house.

An Uncomfortable Melvin

Porter saw this add in ESPN magazine and he really loves it.
As soon as he saw it he said "Mom, this guy has a horse in his butt crack!!"
But he loves the picture. He wanted to cut it out and glue it on paper. I asked what he wanted it for and what he would do with it he said "just to have it". That has been about a week or more ago but he is still talking about the horseman.

Divine Intervention

Sometimes divine intervention may be as small as a sister in law, who unknowing that you are literally at your wits end and are two minutes away from snapping, randomly calls to see if they can drop in for a quick visit.
Thanks Tata. Love you!!!!

He's profound for 3.

The other night Porter and I were in McDonald's in wal-mart, and we were surrounded by Mexican people and he was looking around taking it all in and he said to me "Mom, everybody has different skin huh?" "Yes" I replied looking around to see if anyone had heard him and then he said "But on the inside we all have pink tongues".
We could learn a lot from three year olds!!!!!!
