Porter has started refusing to wear pants or shorts with no back pocket. He has to have a batting glove with him at all times. After all you never know when you may need one. Although it is sort of a pain sometimes in the morning when I am trying to get him dressed, he really does look pretty cute.

rub a dub dub, sounds of the tub
The other night while bathing Porter lay down to get the shampoo out of his hair and his ears were under water. He discovered that if he taps his bowling fingers (the two middle ones) on his thumb, right on the surface of the water it makes a noise he likes. He sat up and said "mom, next time you are in the bath you have to try this" he showed me and then said "it says Paul Blart Mall Cop, Paul Blart Mall Cop, Paul Blart Mall Cop".

The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
I just heard that when we were at the hospital having Max, Porter had a classic funny moment. While I was in labor the Grammas, and Tata were in the delivery room and the Grampas had Porter in the waiting room. So when Max first arrived Boggi called Papa Joe to tell him we were ready for them to come down. My dad had gone down the hall so Papa Joe sent Porter to tell Pops the baby was here and looked just like him. So when Porter got to my dad he said " I have good news and bad news, the good news is my brother is here, the bad news is he looks just like me". He does look just like Porter, but that isn't bad news at all!!

For Names Sake
Everyone who knows us at all knows about the name struggle with this kid. And calling it a struggle is an understatement. The deal was daddy got to choose the first name and I the middle.
I always have thought that a middle name should have meaning, so I really wanted to choose a family name. I have only one brother and he and I have always had a close bond. I don't know if it is because there was only the two of us or maybe because we were boy and girl and never had to share rooms, toys, and friends also we were 5 years apart. Whatever the reason, Booge was the first person that I remember loving more than myself. So I found it fitting when naming baby to name him after the first "baby boy" that filled my heart. Thus we have Max BRADY Benton.

This Day In HIstory : JUNE 12
So I googled June 12, and found a couple exciting things things that have happened on June 12.
1775 – American Revolution: British general Thomas Gage declares martial law in Massachusetts. The British offer a pardon to all colonists who lay down their arms. There would be only two exceptions to the amnesty: Samuel Adams and John Hancock, if captured, were to be hanged.
1864 – American Civil War Overland Campaign: Battle of Cold Harbor – Ulysses S. Grant gives the Confederate forces under Robert E. Lee a victory when he pulls his Union troops from their positions at Cold Harbor, Virginia and moves south
1939 – The Baseball Hall of Fame opens in Cooperstown, New York
1942 – Holocaust: future essayist Anne Frank receives a diary for her thirteenth birthday
1987 – Cold War: U.S. President Ronald Reagan publicly challenges Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall at the Brandenburg Gate.
But the coolest thing by far will happen June 12, 2009. And I am not talking about analog full power television stations ending over the air broadcasting.
Friday June 12 I am going to be induced and we will get our baby boy. All three of us are very excited. I am really done being pregnant but am a little overwhelmed thinking of stuff I wanted to get finished. I suppose the truth is there would still be plenty to do if he wasn't coming until June 12, 2010. We still are undecided on a name but have a few prospects. I guess we will figure it out before we leave the hospital. No matter what I am pretty sure Porter will still call him Rebb. Everyday he talks to my belly and says I love you Rebb, are you awake, what are you doing in there. It is pretty cute.
Anyhow, mark us on your calendars and come pay us a visit. We will be happy to see any of you.

I feel a variance coming on
Recently while watching So you think you can dance we saw a girl who was saying she had been dancing since she was 4 and had once tried to quit but went right back to it because she is a dancer, that's who she is and Porter said "like me, I'm Porter, I'm a Lancer, that's just who I am.
It was pretty funny.
It was pretty funny.
I don't know how that is going to work out since we have moved to Clearfield and the Lancer is the Layton High Mascot. But Uncle Sammy played ball at Layton, not Clearfield so nothing else is going to work!! :)
